The Seattle Seahawks arrived in East, Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday January 26 for their week of preparation for Super Bowl XLVIII.  The Seabirds will practice this week at the New York Giants’ facility in East Rutherford, N.J.  Field conditions and wintery weather may dictate if the Seahawks practice indoors though head coach Pete Carroll has stated that he prefers to have his clubpractice on natural grass and in the cold to prepare them properly for Super Sunday.

For the first 90 fast-paced minutes, the Seabirds practice on the artificial turf inside the New York Giants’ indoor facility and then head coach Pete Carroll opened five doors around the building attempting to simulate the temperatures likely to be felt Super Sunday.

Running back Marshawn Lynch (not injury related) did not participate.

Wide receiver Doug Baldwin (hip), WR Percy Harvin (concussion) and defensive tackle Brandon Mebane (ankle) were all full participation.

Coach Carroll told reporters after practice all is ok:

Everybody’s fine.  This is the day we rest Marshawn. Wednesday is always a rest day for him. We’ve been doing that for years, and it’s always worked out great. We’re in great shape. We’re just as fortunate as can be to be in this kind of shape this late in the year.

The Seabirds will resume practice on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the afternoon.  Hit the sled here for all of your Seahawks practice and injury reports for Super Bowl XLVIII
