Abstract
BACKGROUND:
We performed a meta-analysis of studies with at least Level IV evidence to compare outcomes between hemiarthroplasty and reverse shoulder arthroplasty for the treatment of proximal humeral fractures.
CONCLUSIONS:
The available literature suggests that reverse shoulder arthroplasty performed to address complex proximal humeral fractures might result in more favorable clinical outcomes than hemiarthroplasty performed for the same indication.
Resumen
ANTECEDENTES:
Se realizó un meta-análisis de estudios con al menos pruebas de nivel IV para comparar los resultados entre hemiartroplastia y artroplastia de hombro inversa para el tratamiento de las fracturas de húmero proximal.
CONCLUSIONES:
La literatura disponible sugiere que la artroplastia de hombro invertida realiza para tratar fracturas humerales proximales complejas podrían dar lugar a resultados clínicos más favorables que la hemiartroplastia realizada para la misma indicación.
